The Pennsylvania Institute of Food Marketing Education and Research (PIFMER) is an extension of the Food Marketing program at Saint Joseph's University (SJU) in Philadelphia, PA, which is located about two hours east of Harrisburg.

Agriculture and food are Pennsylvania's leading revenue producing industry. It has cultivated a reputation of national and international renown in producing and providing the world with quality food products, and for its agri-business overall. Abundant raw materials and water supplies, commitment to technology, favorable market access, and a dedication to developing the industry further, have contributed to this reputation. From farm to fork, the agriculture and food industries throughout the supply chain located here in Pennsylvania contribute billions of dollars to the commonwealth's economy each year through exports, sales, and employment.

PIFMER at SJU, in general, supports the PDA in its mission to encourage, protect and promote agriculture and related industries throughout the Commonwealth. Specifically, PIFMER at SJU can assist in adding value to PA businesses and products through improved marketing. PIFMER at SJU provides this assistance through education, research, consultation, and projects.

The Food Marketing program at Saint Joseph's University is the only food marketing education program in the country offering undergraduate, graduate, and executive continuing education at an internationally accredited school of business.
